We believe that Black women deserve to exist + express as full human beings, unconfined by oppressive narratives.Rooted in the arts, humanities and social research, we work with Black women artists, Black women–led institutions, and other artists/organisations that want to ethically centre Black women in their work.Our approach is integrational and innovative, grounded in lived experience, expansive imagination, and resistance of restrictive societal norms and surface-level inclusion.Ultimately, we are building a world where Black women

Creative research is at the heart of our work. We engage in inquiry-driven projects that explore Black women’s lives, expressions and cultures, past, present and future. We highlight Black women as thinkers, creators, innovators, and above all, as human beings.This research may be translated through creative outputs such as films, documentaries, podcasts, zines, exhibitions, editorials and other media.Projects are shaped collaboratively with artists, communities and institutions.

As a further form of creative research and communal inquiry, FOUR + FOUR creates spaces for Black women from all walks of life to reflect, express, and shape their own narratives and identities through workshops, culture clubs, events, and co-creative practice.These spaces prioritise community, curiosity, creativity and critical thinking.ㅤ
